- Railroad Museum Model Train Show ? October 3rd & 4th features this annual Model Train?Show located at The Railroad Museum, 2602 Santa Fe Place, Galveston. This event features model train displays, judging, vendors, & rides on the Harborside Express.
- Music Night on the Strand ? October 10th from 6:00 PM ? 10:00 PM. Seangerfest Park will host ?The Journey Agents? who are the Funkiest of Funk. This another FREE event for you and your family to enjoy.
- Artoberfest ? October 17th & 18th & located on Post Office St.?The Grand 1894 Opera House is sponsoring ?ARToberFEST? which is a Fine Arts Festival showcasing over 125 artists from throughout the United States. This 18th Annual Art Festival is widely considered to be Galveston?s Premier Art Event. Each artist must apply for acceptance, as only 125 approximately are selected.?This year artwork will be presented in thirteen media styles including clay, glass, jewelry, painting, acrylic, oil, watercolor, pen and ink, photography, digital media, textiles, wood and metal. The ?ARToberFEST? admission is $5 per adult,?free for children 12 and under.? A percentage of the admissions?will benefit the Educational Programs of The Grand 1894 Opera House. ?ARToberFEST? also provides free booth space to local high school and college art classes, offering students the opportunity to obtain valuable experience in creating, marketing, and selling their artwork. Come by and support our young and local artists. After all, they are our future for the ?Art World?.
- Oktoberfest ? October 23rd & 24th features the 34th Annual Galveston Island Oktoberfest. This
?FREE event is hosted by and at The First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2415 Ave G, Galveston. Friday the 23rd from 5:00 ? 11:00 PM. Saturday the 24th from 11:00 ? 11:00 PM. Great food, cold beer, and family fun entertainment is once again the reason that this October 2015, Oktoberfest is one of the Best Attended events and festivals?of the year.? In addition to the traditional Sausage Dinner, homemade cakes and sweets, festival attendees?can look forward to Helmut?s?Strudel and Donald Gangl?s apple cake.
